Romania's Finance Ministry to introduce additional fee on natural resources exploitation

03 April 2015

Romania’s Public Finance Ministry will present this month a draft law that introduces an additional fee on natural resources exploitation, said Dan Manolescu, State Secretary with the Finance Ministry.

The current oil law presents the tax mechanisms for hydrocarbons, whereas the mining law addresses the tax mechanisms for coal and other minerals. The new draft law would bring these together so that investors can easily understand which taxes they need to pay, said Manolescu, cited by local Agerpres.

The new bill also includes the proposal to extend these taxes, by adding a profit taxation mechanism.
