Cosmetics company ups turnover by 9% in Romania

Cosmetics company Coty Cosmetics increased its turnover by 9% in Romania last year over the previous.

It recorded sales of EUR 18.4 million in 2014, compared to EUR 16.8 million in 2013.

The decorative cosmetics segment, including nail polish and lipstick, was the most dynamic product segment. It doubled in the last two and a half years. These products account for 35-40% of the turnover.

"In times of crisis, women give up expensive indulgences and turn to those that they can afford, such as nail polish and lipstick," said Razvan Afenduli, general manager with Coty Romania, cited by local Dialybusiness.ro.

The company expects to increase its net profit ratio, from 5% of the turnover in 2014, to 10% this year.
