Complaints about insurers’ services, down by 5.8% in Romania
The Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) received last year 12,696 complaints about insurance services, down by 5.78% over 2013.
The claims represent 1.5% of the total damages endorsed by insurers, namely 847,296, and 0.08% of the total number of insurance contracts in force at the end of 2014, namely 15.26 million.
Some three quarters of the complaints were settled in favor of the petitioners, namely 9,316, up 3.8% over 2013.
Most people filed petitions against Euroins, with 4,269 claims, followed by insurer Astra, with 3,128. Next were Uniqa - 974, City Insurance - 855, Omniasig VIG - 815, Asirom VIG - 738, Carpatica Asig - 637, Allianz Tiriac - 454, Groupama - 239 and Generali - 166.
