Coffee sales in Romania up 15-20% during Easter

Coffee sales increased by 15-20% during Easter in Romania, compared to the same period of the previous month.

However, Romania ranks last among EU countries for daily consumption of coffee, with half a cup of coffee per day per capita, said Marius Melesteu, president of the Romanian Coffee Association, quoted by Agerpres.

The Netherlands ranks first with 2.4 cups per day, followed by Finland with 1.8 cups daily and Sweden with 1.3 cups per day.

In Romania, the roasted coffee has the biggest market share, whereas coffee specialties have recorded decreases in the last years.
