Bucharest subway operator signs EUR 12.4 mln contract for security services

08 January 2015

Bucharest subway operator Metrorex has signed a framework agreement worth EUR 12.4 million with the security company Nei Guard, for security, monitoring and interventions services, lasting two and a half years. The contract was won in an open auction on December 29, where two bids were presented.

"Security, monitoring and intervention services will be provided according to a program which covers both metro working hours and the night, as the risk analysis for physical security and security plans require it," according to the procurement procedure, cited by local Mediafax.

The agreement has a 30 months duration, and Metrorex estimates that it will sign minimum 3 and maximum 30 subsequent contracts.

The project is funded from a state budget subsidy and the subway operator's own revenues.
