Romanian IT group Bitdefender yesterday officially launched its innovative Internet of Things (IoT) security solution called the Box in the US. This was probably the biggest launch of a Romanian product in the US so far.

Bitdefender Box is a hardware security solution designed to actively protect users from malware, phishing attacks, redirects, and malicious links. The Box, which can also act as a router, protects not only computers but all the smart devices people have in their homes, which are connected to the internet, such as smartphones, tablets, smart TVs and house appliance, according to paymentweek.com.

Bitdefender, which started as an antivirus, is the best known Romanian IT brand abroad. Romanian entrepreneur Florin Talpes controls the group. Cloud commerce solutions provider Avangate will distribute the Bitdefender Box hardware and software.
