Deva-based bicycle manufacturer Eurosport DHS controlled by Chinese and German investors posted a EUR 46 million turnover last year, up 20% from the previous year.

Over 70% of the company's production goes to the European markets while the E-Bike electric bicycles represent over 35% of its output.

"Our strategy for 2015 is aimed at the company's repositioning on the domestic market. In EU countries the electric bike has become a trend, so we expect a growing interest in these models in Romania", said company representatives, cited by local Ziarul Financiar.

The company started manufacturing electric bikes for its German shareholder Prophete GmbH under its brands in 2015. Eurosport DHS will produce 12 models under its own bike brand.
