World Bank offers EUR 4.44 mln consultancy to Romania's Competition Council
The project covers two years and mainly targets increasing the Competition Council's role in elaborating economic policies, promoting European standards and consolidating its administrative capacity.
The Competition Council is not the only Romanian institution which gets the World Bank helping hand. The WB will also be working with the Tax Administration (ANAF) on reorganizing it. The World Bank will analyse and implement improvements in procedures between 2012 and 2015. Improvements will limit the face – to – face interaction between the tax payers and the tax administration clerks, as well as add a centralized database and a tax e-payment system.
