Temperatures drop again in Romania, frosty weather forecasted for most of the week

After the frosty weather registered in Romania in the last days of 2014, the cold weather returns to the country at the beginning of this week. The temperatures will frequently drop below minus 15 degrees Celsius during the nights and even below minus 25 degrees Celsius in some regions of Romania.

On Monday, January 5, the maximum temperatures are expected to stay between minus 5 degrees Celsius in Transylvania and 3 degrees Celsius in some areas in the south and west parts of the country. The minimum temperatures will stay between minus 15 degrees Celsius and minus 5 degrees Celsius, according to the meteorologists. In Bucharest, the sky will be temporarily cloudy and the temperature is expected to drop to minus 9 degrees Celsius during the night.

The weather will get even colder on Tuesday, January 6. The maximum temperatures will stay between minus 10 degrees Celsius in Eastern Transylvania and 2 degrees in Oltenia region, while the minimum temperatures will be between minus 9 degrees and minus 23 degrees Celsius.

The National Weather Administration has issued a warning for extremely cold weather, frost and strong winds for the period starting Tuesday at noon until Friday morning, according to Mediafax.
