Sofiproteol's Romanian subsidiary Expur ups revenues to over EUR 250 mln in 2013

05 March 2014

Vegetable oil producer Expur, the local branch of French group Sofiproteol, ended 2013 with revenues of EUR 254 million, up 14 percent year-on-year, reports local business daily Ziarul Financiar.

The company’s turnover last year is the highest in the last seven years.

Expur’s good results were mainly supported by a good agricultural year for Romania, as the country came first in the EU on sunflower production.

Expur is one of the largest Romanian oil seed processing companies, and has an industrial plant in Slobozia.

Last year, the company signed an agreement with Cargill to purchase some of its assets, such as the Untdelemn de la Bunica and Olpo edible oil brands.
