Rompetrol starts prospective drilling in Romania's Zegujani perimeter, USD 10 mln investment for 2013
The Lupşa – SAT 1 well is located in South-Western Gorj county and will reach a depth of 4,200 meters. The perimeter has been under a Rompetrol concession since 2004.
“With the support of our sole shareholder - KazMunayGas, we want to strengthen our presence in the Black Sea region in the following period, but also to continue investments in the perimeters that we have under concession,” said Gheorghe Georgescu, manager Rompetrol SA.
Rompetrol also started prospective drilling works in the Focsani perimeter in Romania in 2012, on a site that has been under the company’s concession since 2005.
The group has another three fields under concession in Romania - Satu Mare, Gresu and Nereju.
