Romanians will buy this year cruises worth EUR 3.2 million at an average price of EUR 700-800 per person for an eight-day trip.

At global level, the cruise market has increased by 9% this year, said Ioan Basea, general director of Croaziere.net. In Romania, the rise in demand is even higher, because cruises are considered a new product.

“It has been a good year for the industry. Some tourists got rid of Turkey and Greece, and all-inclusive offers and want to try a new product,” said Basea, cited by local Mediafax.

The sales increased by 14% in Romania this year to some EUR 3.2 million, compared with sales of EUR 2.8 million last year.

The price for the most affordable cruise this year amounted to EUR 400 plus taxes. This offered eight days in the Mediterranean.

The most popular destinations among Romanians include the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, Baltic capitals, Norwegian fjords, Caribbean, South America, and Alaska.
