Romanian President: George Enescu and Sibiu Theater festivals, some of the large branding projects Romania needs

15 January 2015

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis recently stated that the George Enescu Festival and the Sibiu International Theater Festival, together with the modernization of the National Museum of Romanian History, are some of the large branding projects Romania needs.

“I signed today two letters through which I granted the Romanian President's High Patronage to the 2015 edition of the George Enescu International Festival and to the Sibiu International Theater Festival. Along with these two major international festivals, the revamping of the National Museum of Romanian History can join the large identity projects Romania needs,” said Iohannis while present at the “National Museum of Romanian History – A New Beginning” event organized on the National Day of Culture.

Romania’s George Enescu Festival celebrates the work of the renowned Romanian composer George Enescu and brings some of the world’s finest orchestral musicians to Romania. This year’s edition of the event will take place between August 30 and September 20 and will gather around 2,500 foreign artists and 500 Romanian artists. Tickets for the event can be purchased starting today from eventim.ro, or from Germanos, Orange, Vodafone and Domo stores, Humanitas and Carturesti bookshops and Eventim offices. Find out more about the festival here.

Sibiu International Theater Festival is one of the most important performing arts festivals in Europe. This year’s edition will be organized between June 12 and June 21. The event’s official website here.

The Romanian National Day of Culture is celebrated each year on January 15, which is also the day when Romanian famous poet Mihai Eminescu’s birthday is celebrated. This year marks 165 years since Eminescu’s birth.
