Romania registers highest inflation rate in the EU in December

Romania recorded the highest annual inflation rate in the European Union in December 2014, with 1%, while the Euro area annual inflation was of -0.2%, and the European Union annual inflation was -0.1% - or deflation - in December 2014, down from 0.3% in November. Romania was followed by Austria (0.8%) and Finland (0.6%).

The lowest annual inflation rates in December 2014 were recorded in Greece (-2.5%), Bulgaria (-2%) and Spain (-1.1%).

Romania registered a monthly inflation rate of -0.1% in December 2014 compared to November. 11 EU countries had a higher monthly inflation rate, between 0% and 0.3%.
