Romania pays EUR 8.9 mln for better-connected IT systems

20 February 2015

Romania’s Special Telecommunication Services (STS) will organize in April a new tender to buy telecom equipment, in a contract worth EUR 8.9 million (VAT included).

The equipment should help increase the connections among the IT systems of central and local public institutions, reports local Mediafax.

Earlier this week, STS has announced other two auctions for contracts worth EUR 14.9 million to extend the Single National Emergency Call System 112 and to increase the cooperation between central and local public institutions.

STS, an agency with military status, coordinates special communications activities, for institutions such as the Presidency and the Government, among others.

The new contract will have a 5-month duration and the state will fund it from non-reimbursable external funds and the national budget.
