Roger Waters to stage spectacular full production of Pink Floyd's The Wall in Romania
The cult album was the last recorded by the classic Pink Floyd line up of Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason, who had become one of the most successful rock acts of the 70s with albums like Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here. Keyboard player Richard Wright left the band immediately after The Wall's release in 1979. The remaining members produced one further album - The Final Cut - and split soon afterwards.
A film version of The Wall was made featured a mixture of live action and marvelously disturbing animation by Gerald Scarfe. The film was shown at the Cannes Film Festival and starred Irish punk rock singer Bob Geldof, who later led the Band Aid and Live Aid charity concerts.
The Wall cemented its place in history when Roger Waters performed the album in Berlin to 200,000 people in the immediate aftermath of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. Surviving members of Pink Floyd David Gilmour and Nick Mason joined Roger Waters for his performance sof The Wall in London during the 2010/11 World Tour.
The tickets for the concert are on sale on www.MyTicket.ro, starting November 16, and will later be available in stores.
