The transactions on the real estate market increased four times last year and the total investment value reached EUR 1.2 billion.

The rental activity grew by about 30%, according to the report “Romania Market Review” published by real estate consultancy Colliers International Romania.

The office market reached last year the highest level since 2008. The net demand on this market represented almost half of the transactional activity.

Industrial deals amounted to about EUR 171 million in 2014, the highest level in the last six years.

The report anticipates the return of speculative industrial developments and an increase in the stock by 100,000 sqm in the next two years.

Companies will deliver in 2015 new commercial centers stretching over 200,000 sqm.

The most awaited launch this year is the opening of the Mega Mall commercial center in eastern Bucharest, according to the report.
