The new truck tires market is expected to grow with 25 percent this year compared to 2010, to 400,000 tires, according to Alina Ghica, marketing manager of Michelin Romania. In the first five months, sales of truck tires rose by almost 40 percent to 130,000 units.

“Last year, around 320,000 units were sold in Romania. We estimate an advance of 25 percent  from 2010”, said Alina Ghica.

Michelin Group started its activity in Romania in August, 2001, and in January, 2005, Romania became a regional center for the group's commercial activities in Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. This year, Michelin celebrates 10 years of activity in Romania, with investments of over EUR 265 million and almost 3,000 employees.
