Sibiu will have the largest mural in Romania

17 August 2020

The largest mural in Romania is currently being created in Sibiu, in the famous Transylvania region, as part of the city's International Street Art Festival (SISAF).

The mural, created by graffiti artists from the Sweet Damage Crew, will become the biggest attraction of the Street Art Tour in Sibiu, according to the festival's organizers. It will cover the entire wall of a building in the city's Aurel Vlaicu Square and will have a maximum height of 25 meters, covering over 525 square meters.

The painting follows the theme of this year's festival - Origins, and is "a tribute to man and humanity, to the individual and society, from its origins to the present." It is a group portrait made up of faces of people painted in different colors and styles, thus supporting the idea of unity in diversity.

The 17 street artworks created at this year's SISAF, of which 12 permanent murals, will further enrich the city's open-air urban gallery, which now totals 9,700 square meters of color. The Street Art Tour in Sibiu is now comprising 96 works spread throughout the city.
