Electricity consumption, up 3.9% in Romania in first 11 months of last year
A country's energy consumption is one of the indicators of economic development during a certain period of time, as people tend to save energy during a recession period, thus impacting the country's energy consumption. Check out this list of countries by electricity consumption here. In 2007, Romania ranked 45th out of more than 200 countries.
The population used 1.8 percent more electricity, while the public lightning system used 5.5 percent less energy during the first 11 months of 2010 in Romania.
