Danube Summit brings EC president Barroso and 14 Danube countries officials to Bucharest next week
President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso (in picture) will attend the Danube Summit in Romania next week. Delegations from 14 Danube countries are expected to attend and Poland is also invited to participate as observer.
Attending a February 2010 Danube Summit in Budapest, Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc proposed several projects to boost the implementation of the Danube Strategy: upgrading the Danube ports and the related infrastructure; interconnecting the national natural gas and electricity systems, as well as environmental protection projects and the involvement of Danube countries in educational projects.
