Andrei studied finance at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and started his journalism career in 2004 with Ziarul Financiar, the leading financial newspaper in Romania, where he worked for ten years, the last six of which as editor of the capital markets section. He joined the Romania-Insider.com team in 2014 as editor and became Editor-in-Chief in 2016. He currently oversees the daily content published on Romania-Insider.com and likes to stay up to date with everything relevant in business, politics, and life in Romania. Andrei lives with his family in the countryside in Northern Romania, where he built their own house. In his free time, he studies horticulture and tends to his family’s garden. Vega Company has bought the tourist complex Faleza near the Danube quay in Galati city for EUR 2.6 million, the Tourism Ministry has announced. Five bidders attended the bid for the 3,500 sqm hotel complex on the Galati Danube quay. The starting price was of EUR 1.1 million

Swedish band Roxette will perform in Romania for the first time on May 30 next year, at Zone Arena, according to Emagic, which organizes the concert. Roxette fans from Romania and the CEE region will be able to listen to Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson in a concert which is included in the band's world tour scheduled for 2011.

Discovery's TLC channel will be launched in Romania on January 20, 2011, and it will be initially distributed both in analog and digital formats by telecom operator UPC Romania, according to Discovery Networks representatives. TLC is owned by Discovery Communications and addresses an audience mostly made of women, being popular in the United States.

Romania’s trade deficit narrowed to EUR6.9 billion in January to September, from EUR 7.1 billion in the year-earlier period, as exports rose more rapidly than imports, according to the country’s statistics institute INS. Exports rose 26.5 percent on the year to EUR 26.8 billion, while imports were up 18.9 percent to EUR 33.7 billion.
