Bucharest mall hosts festival of Romanian films

The Festival of Romanian Films takes place between May 31 and June 6 on the terrace of the Promenada Mall in Bucharest.

Sieranevada, a 2016 Palm d’Or contender at the big winner at this year’s Romanian films industry awards Gopo, will open the festival. Cristi Puiu, the film’s director will attend the screening on May 31, starting 21:00. The audience can expect to find more about the film’s concept and details about the actors’ performances straight from the director.

Several other films directed by Cristi Puiu will be screened at the festival, including The Death of Mr. Lazarescu, which won the Un Certain Regard Award at the Cannes film festival in 2005, Aurora and Stuff and Dough.

Rocker and Morgen, two films directed by Marian Crisan, Back Home by Andrei Cohn, and Metrobranding, directed by Anei Vlad and Adi Voicu, are among the other movies to be screened.
