Bounced payments up 19.4% in October in Romania

The amount of payments rejected by banks increased by 19.4% in October compared to the previous month, exceeding EUR 174 million, according to data reported to the Payment Incidents Register of the National Bank of Romania, cited by local Economica.net.

The value of the bounced payments carried out in November 2013 amounted to EUR 117 million, EUR 57 million below the amount recorded in October 2014.

Most of the rejected payments in October this year came from promissory note payments which amounted to about EUR 163 million, up by 16.3% from the amount recorded in September 2014.
