Austrian insurer VIG’s profit in Romania up almost fourfold in first half
Vienna Insurance Group (VIG), one of the biggest insurance groups in the region, recorded a gross profit of EUR 9.5 million in Romania in the first half of this year, up nearly four times compared to the result in the same period of 2019 (EUR 2.4 mln).
The groups’ gross premiums written in Romania went down by 2.5% year-on-year, to EUR 229.1 mln.
Overall, the group recorded gross premiums written worth EUR 5.58 bln in the first half, up 2.4% year-on-year, while its gross result declined by nearly 22%, to EUR 201.2 mln.
