Tourist information touch screens, finally functional in Universitate passage
The four screens and the floor areas have been installed in the middle of the passage, which has been in a reshuffle stage for more than two years. The process will continue with a yet to be opened tourist information center on one of the sides of the passage.
The value of the equipments was of EUR 100,000, according to the acquisition tender. The system was supposed to be inaugurated in February this year, according to previous announcements. The Universitate passage, which also hosts the metro entry, has been revamped during 2008.
These are part of a wider plan to install an electronic system across the city which would display the municipality projects, as well as provide internet connection, among others.
A tourist information center has been running in the North Railway Station (Gara de Nord) since August last year. Similar centers were in planning for the Otopeni and Baneasa airports, the old center of Bucharest and the Village Museum.
