Some 600 troops, helicopters and supersonic aircrafts take part in Romanian-American training exercise

The 71st Air Base in Romania’s Campia Turzii will host a large-scale Romanian-American exercise between July and September this year.

Some 600 Romanian and American troops will take part in the exercise, together with six MiG-21 LanceR supersonic aircrafts, 12 F-15 fighter jet aircrafts, and five IAR-330 Puma helicopters. The exercise aims to increase the personnel’s level of training and interoperability, according to a statement of the Romanian Ministry of National Defense.The military will also have the chance to practice techniques, tactics and procedures related to air operations, in accordance with NATO standards.

Some 1,500 soldiers from eight countries play war games in Eastern Romania.
