Traffic at the Timisoara International Airport Traian Vuia was of some 735,000 passengers last year, up 4.8%, and of some 10,300 flights, 1,000 less than in 2013, reports local Wall-street.ro.

Fewer people transited the airport, as the transit traffic's share in the overall passenger traffic dropped from 42% in 2008, to 7% in 2013 and to a mere 0.09% in 2014.

More than 99.9% of the passengers embark or disembark from Timisoara.Although the number of flights went down last year, occupancy rate increased by 14%.

Most passengers fly Wizzair (53%), followed by Lufthansa (22%) and Tarom (21%).
