Romania's Parliament proposes changes to Big Brother law
Another change was that prosecutors would only have access to this data with court approval. The new proposal will be debated in the Chamber of Deputies today (May 22 ).
The law was a requirement from the European Commission, and Romania risks paying a fine of over EUR 300,000 per day for not enforcing it on time. The law was rejected by the Constitutional Court, on the grounds that it breached human rights.
