Romania’s National Day: 96 years since the Great Union to be celebrated in Bucharest and other major cities

Romania celebrates its National Day on December 1. This year, Romania makes 96 years since the Great Union, on December 1, 1918. The Great Union signifies the union of Transylvania with the rest of Romania, which was signed in Alba Iulia.

This year, events celebrating the National Day are programed in Romania’s Capital Bucharest, in Alba Iulia, as well as in other major cities.

The military parade in Bucharest is the biggest. More than 2,700 Romanian and foreign soldiers will march in front of the Parliament’s Palace, in Piata Constitutiei, starting 11:00. The country’s anthem will be sang and 21 cannon blasts will also be shot.

Military parades and other events will also take place in some of the largest cities in Romania.
