Romania's Ministry of Finance borrows EUR 223 mln at record low yield

The Ministry of Public Finance borrowed yesterday EUR 223 million from commercial banks at a record low yield of 1.6%, through a one-year issue of securities. Banks had subscribed EUR 401 million in the issuance, reports local Agerpres.

The treasury is currently borrowing cheaper, as the yield fell below the historical low of 1.63% recorded last month.

The Ministry planned to borrow EUR 797 from the commercial banks in December, EUR 736 million of which through six auctions of treasury bills and bonds, and EUR 60 million in additional sessions for non-competitive bids, related to the auction bonds.
