Romania's EximBank ups operating profit by half

State-owned bank EximBank closed 2014 with a net profit of EUR 10.5 million, slightly up over the previous year, when the profit was EUR 10.2 million.

The bank had an operating profit of EUR 27.3 million, up 50% on 2013. A risk cost of EUR 15 million affected the final result.

EximBank slightly increased in 2014 its total exposure – or the total value of granted loans - to EUR 1.06 billion, above the EUR 1.01 billion in 2013.

The bank granted last year new loans of almost EUR 203 million. The main beneficiaries of new loans were big companies, with a share of 57%. The small and medium enterprises had a 41% share.
