Romania’s economic growth in 2015 revised up to 3.8%

Romania’s GDP went up by 3.8% last year in real terms compared to the previous year, according to new data from the National Statistics Institute (INS).

The growth rate was 0.1 percentage points higher than the one INS previously announced.

The GDP amounted to RON 712.8 billion (EUR 159.5 billion) as gross series, in current prices and real terms. The level was some EUR 577 million higher than the one previously announced.

The estimated GDP for the fourth quarter of the last year reached EUR 40.6 billion in current prices, up 1.1% over the previous quarter and up 3.8% year-on-year.

The contribution of the household consumption to the GDP rose from 3.9% to 4%.
