Romanians have lowest life expectancy in the EU, study finds
Women are more enduring than men, with a life expectancy of around 77, while men, of 70 years. In France, by contrast, women live on average up to 85 years and men up to 77 years. An average age almost as high is also recorded in Sweden, the United States and Norway.
However, life expectancy has increased each year with 2 to 3 months, according to the latest demographic report of the European Commission. Before the 1989 revolution, the average life expectancy in Romania was of 69 years, 4 years lower than today.
