Romanian taxpayers buy 70,000 digital certificates to submit online income statements
A digital certificate costs EUR 50, according to Mediafax newswire and allows the holder the possibility to submit declarations for more than one company. This means EUR 3.5 million worth of digital signature certificates have been bought so far.
Three companies are listed on the e-Guvernare.ro website as certification issuers: Certsign SRL, Digisign SRL, Trans Sped SRL. A digital certificate is a virtual identity card enabling the identification on the internet.
The single income tax and social contributions declaration replaces five monthly declarations that taxpayers had to fill in and submit in hard copy before the new ruling was enforced at the beginning of this year.
