Romanian takes over as manager of real estate consultancy firm JLL’s local office

16 December 2014

Real estate consultancy company JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle) has appointed Romanian Marius Scuta as managing director of its local business, after Dutch Gijs Klomp, the former manager, announced that he will leave the company.

Marius Scuta, who already leads the office leasing and tenant representation departments of JLL Romania, will be supported in his new role by Troy Javaher, JLL’s CEE head of capital markets and former head of the firm’s Romania business.

Scuta has been working for JLL since November 2009. Before that he worked for BNP Paribas Real Estate and CBRE.

JLL is one of the top players on the commercial real estate services segment in Romania. The company has expanded its office agency and development land capabilities in 2014. The company has been involved in some large transactions this year, such as the sale of Promenada Mall in Bucharest by Austrian group Raiffeisen Evolution, and the acquisition of the Europolis logistics park near Bucharest by Czech investment fund P3.

Gijs Klomp will take on as head of capital markets for real estate consultancy firm CBRE, one of JLL’s main competitors. Klomp has been managing JLL’s local office since May 2013, but before that he worked for CBRE Global Investors in Prague.
