Romanian senators drop tech news minute on local televisions

20 September 2016

Television channels in Romania will not be forced to broadcast one minute of tech news each day, as the Senate rejected a law proposal in this sense, reports local Profit.ro.

The Chamber of Deputies voted in February a bill that provided that all TV stations that also have news programs in their schedules should broadcast one minute of tech news each day.

The law’s supporters aimed to have the local TV stations include in their news programs information about new scientific discoveries, climate change, new technologies, Romanian research, and other related themes. However, the Senate’s culture and media committee scraped this article from the law project.
