09 May 2017

Electric Castle, one of the largest music festivals in Romania, has been included by British newspaper The Guardian among the European “festivals you should be booking this summer.”

The festival takes place every year at the Banffy Castle domain in Bonţida, a village near Cluj-Napoca, in Western Romania.

Electric Castle is highlighted for its 16th-century castle setting, a line-up including Deadmau5, Zedd, Franz Ferdinand, and Alt-J, and for being one of Europe’s 24-hour festivals.

Other festivals on the list include Meadows in the Mountains in Bulgaria, Secret Solstice in Iceland, Roskilde in Denmark, Nos Alive in Portugal, and North Sea Jazz Festival in The Netherlands, among others.

This year’s edition of Electric Castle takes place between July 12 and July 16. The organizers expect more than 130,000 spectators this year, after welcoming a crowd of more than 120,000 in 2016.
