Local insurer CertAsig increased its turnover by 20% in the first half of 2015, reaching total written premiums of EUR 7 million compared to EUR 5.8 million in the same period of 2014.

About a third of the business was generated by contractual guaranties, a type of insurance for which CertAsig ranks second on the Romanian market, with total written premiums of EUR 2 million in the first half of 2015. The contractual guarantees include guarantees for participation in auctions, good execution, maintenance, deductions, and good conduct. Underwriting risks of this type requires expertise in risk assessment, said James Grindley, CEO CertAsig.

The insurance for construction and engineering fields generated 12% of the volume of premiums, with EUR 0.8 million.
