Romanian lawyer Florentin Tuca, the founder of Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii law firm, became the Managing Partner of the Year at the most recent European Lawyer Awards 2012. It is the first time a Romanian has received this award. The gala ceremony took place on October 25 in Monte Carlo.

Tuca was nominated along with coordinating partners of law firms in France, Italy, Germany, Finland and Ukraine. He was chosen by a jury of 15 executives.

Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii was awarded the Law Firm of the Year in the Balkans in 2010 at the same competition.

Florentin Tuca, with 19 years of experience, specializes in company law, concessions and Public – Private Partnerships, as well as mergers and acquisitions. He led the team of lawyers who represented Romania and won the disputes at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). In 2011, Tuca was part of the team of experts selected by the Justice Ministry within a project financed by the World Bank to prepare the enforcement of the new Civil and Penal Codes and their procedures.
