Romanian becomes board member of European insurance regulator

Misu Negritoiu, the president of Romania’s Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF), has been elected board member of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), the European regulator for insurance and private pensions, for a term of two and a half years.

The Board of Supervisors made the decision on December 2, during a reunion at Frankfurt.

Romania is represented for the first time at this level within the European institution.

In September, Misu Negritoiu was appointed president of the Committee for Economic Analysis and Market within the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), with a two-year term.
