Romania, suspended from trading CO2 rights
"Romania will prepare a revised version of the national inventory and send it to the UNFCCC and based on its evaluation will then ask to reinstall eligibility as soon as possible," the environment ministry said in a statement.
The Kyoto Protocol has assigned emissions caps to developed countries through a quota of carbon permits or credits. This program started in 2008 and will end in 2012. Countries which stay under the targets can sell the difference of assigned amount units (AAUs) on the open market.
