Romania ranks 13th in world for wine production

Romania’s wine production increased by 9% in 2015. The country ranked 13th among the largest wine producers in the world, according to the International Vine and Wine Organization (OIV).

Currently Romania ranks 5th at European level based on the area cultivated with vineyards, and 6th based on wine production.

Italy has become the largest wine producer in the world this year, surpassing France and Spain.

The wine output worldwide is some 275.7 million hectoliters this year, 2% higher than last year.
