Romania opens Greenopolis pavilion at Shanghai World Exhibition
The pavilion itself, in the shape of a green apple with a slice laying on the ground, was constructed from glass, with the interior made of steel. The apple-shaped construction will change color during the night.
“We expect to see six months of intense promotion in China, on two important levels: cultural and economic”, said Ferdinand Nagy, the Romanian commissioner general for world exhibitions. “The success of the Romanian Pavilion in Expo 2010 cannot be quantified in the immediate period, but we can say that it has been intensely popularized by the Chinese media and we expect a large influx of visitors”, Ferdinand Nagy also said.
The World Exhibition 2010 – “Better City, Better Life” in Shanghai, China will be on until October 31st, 2010. The Expo 2010 organizers expect over 200 countries and international organizations to participate and approximately 70 million visitors.
