16 June 2015

Romania’s water sector needs investments of EUR 20 billion, said Gratiela Gavrilescu, Minister for Environment, Water and Forests. The amount is required to achieve the targets on water assumed by Romania.

“The investments in the water sector in Romania are by far the largest among the planned investments on environment,” said Gavrilescu, cited by local Capital.ro.

Most of the investments are needed to develop the infrastructure for drinking water, sewerage and wastewater treatment. They are also necessary for the flood risk management and coastal erosion protection, the Minister added.
