Romania, fourth biggest growth in EU for new car registrations

Romania posted the fourth biggest growth in car registrations in the European Union in the first nine months this year, with an increase of 25.5%. Romania came after Portugal, - 35.3%, Ireland – 29.8% and Croatia, 25.8%, according to data from the Association of European Car Markets.

Meanwhile Romanian car brand Dacia posted the third largest increase in sales, of 29%, to some 273,000 units. New car sales were up by some 10,000 units in Romania during this period, to some 51,500 cars. On an EU level, new car sales were up 6.1% during this period, to some 9.5 million.

Large markets like Spain, UK, Italy, Germany and France all reported growth, even if small – 2.9% and 2.1% for the last two countries, respectively.
