Romania and Republic of Moldova join forces to support Black Sea ring highway
At end – 2010, Russia signed the memorandum for a ring highway around the Black Sea, which would be 7,140 km long and connect Istanbul (Turkey), Samsun (Turkey), Trabzon (Turkey), Batumi (Georgia), Poti (Georgia), Novorossiisk (Russia), Rostov-on-Don (Russia), Taganrog (Russia), Mariupol (Ukraine), Odessa (Ukraine), Chisinau (Moldova), Bucharest (Romania), Haskovo (Bulgaria), Edirne (Turkey), Istanbul (Turkey), Komotini (Greece), Alexandroupoli (Greece).
The future highway is expected to boost trade, economic, humanitarian and tourism ties in the Black Sea region and across the entire Eurasian continent.
