Passenger traffic on Bucharest airports reaches record level in first two months

18 March 2014

The Bucharest Airports National Company (CNAB) recorded in the first two months of the year an air traffic of over one million passengers on the Henri Coanda International Airport and Baneasa Airport in Romanian capital. This is a record level for the winter months.

In February, the total number of passengers transiting Bucharest airports increased by 8.1 percent compared to the same period last year.

These results were triggered by CNAB’s measures taken to attract new airlines and to expand the number of routes operated from Bucharest.

In 2013, Bucharest’s two airports were transited by over 7.6 million passengers, and the number of aircraft movements (landings and takeoffs) amounted to almost 96,000.

The Bucharest Airports National Company started operations in February 2010, rbinging together the two main airports in Bucharest, Otopeni and Baneasa.
