Occupancy rate at Romania's beaches hits 100 percent
"The success of the Romanian seaside this year exceeds even that of 2008, when Romania was not yet aware of the crisis and purchasing power was much higher," reads a FPTR press release. According the tourism federation, this year's success is owed to efforts by stakeholders in the Romanian tourism industry to offer conditions and prices that can compete with destinations in other countries.
Clean beaches, improved services, concerts, festivals and other events have also encouraged tourists to head to the Romanian coast, according the the FPTR. The federation suggests that a special program of offers could be good for September to maintain the occupancy rate at the coast in early autumn.
