Number of Romanians who choose jobs abroad triples

The number of Romanians who went to work abroad tripled in 2010 on 2009, according to the Thera Group recruitment company.  The most popular work programs abroad were the work and travel programs for 2010 were for Spain and Greece, as well as the jobs in the hotel and agriculture segments. Romanians chose to go work in Nordic countries – Norway, Sweden, Denmark, where the most sought after jobs were professional drivers, oil and construction specialists, according to the company.

Romania has 2.7 million emigrants, according to the most recent World Bank report on migration. Most Romanians emigrated to Italy, Spain, Hungary, Israel, USA, Germany, Canada, Austria, France and the UK.
